We
never knew we needed them yet suddenly everyone has one. They are
called life coaches and they are putting more and more people's
lives back on track, even school students. Alex Catts admits he was a chronic procrastinator. He had never handed an assignment in on time and was headed for failure in his final year of school until he called in the help of a life coach - things have never been better. "I've started handing things in on time so my marks have improved, my work's been of a better quality and I've also felt that I've had more direction," Alex said. "I know where I'm standing within the year." Life coach Suzy Green helped Alex find out why he was putting things off. "Alex learned a lot about himself during that process, about how he studies, his approach to study, about how he needs to look after himself so he can remain motivated," Ms Green said. Life coaching has been one of the fastest growing industries in the United States and Australia is not far behind. Providing support and guidance has become a professional service. "It is filling that gap where people are now spread out across the world and don't have access to family, extended family or mentors," Ms Green said. Mother of two Juliet Scrine found herself wanting even more out of life after juggling a successful marketing business and a separate full time job. "I guess life is getting a bit hectic," Ms Scrine said. "I like to take on more than I can chew and I was starting to get bogged down."
With Ms Green's help they found ways
for Ms Scrine to manage her life and find time to develop her dream
of running a theatre company. |
